Real talk about living with fibromyalgia.

Welcome to Fibromyalgia: A Daily Blog and Bitchfest. This is a raw, unfiltered space where we discuss the daily grind, the chronic pain, the mental fatigue, and the occasional dark humor of living with an invisible illness. No toxic positivity, just real life.

ABOUT ME

Welcome to my personal journey with Fibromyalgia.

My name is Molly. I've had a variety of health issues all my life.

There will be complaining, adult language, anger and other messy emotions. Hopefully, there also will be some humor about the stupidity of it all. The ridiculousness of a condition that has been around so long but nobody can agree on what it is, how it starts, how to treat it, or even what type of a condition it actually is -- autoimmune? Central nervous system? Childhood trauma? Other? We don't know -- and neither do our doctors.

One of my biggest mental and emotional issues with Fibro is that I want to be heard and understood. I don't want to put on a happy face and fill pages with information about ways to exercise or eat better or what medications to try. There are a million places to look for that info.

I want this to be a safe place to talk about the really hard stuff: how devastating it is to lose people because this condition robs us of so much, just how physically painful it is every single day, and the fact that no one understands if they don't have it and few people, even people we are close to, don't want to hear the details. It isn't visible, so it can't be that bad. Well, it can be and it is. And we need to be heard.

I guess I should say, I need to be heard. I have no idea if anyone will ever read this or contribute their own stories and that's ok. I'm doing this for me and I hope it helps others, but really, this is me shouting into the void about how crappy this experience is and what it has stolen and continues to steal from me and millions of others every day.
